This painting of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marshalltown, IA is the church that my grandmother and her mother attended. It holds a special place in my heart because it was the last place I ever saw my grandmother, who passed before I was four years old. It represents, to me, family unity each time I drive by it, and, for a moment in time, I feel connected to my matriarchical ancestors. Submitted to the Iowa State Fair 2019, not accepted.
